To make the officials and athletes access their venues timely and helping Londoners to keep moving during the London 2012 Olympics Games, plans are being formalized. The plan mainly includes Olympic Route Network and Paralympic Route Network, i.e. ORN/PRN, which will enable the Londoners to go to their respective jobs without any hurdles.
Approximately two and half percent of the roads of London will be the part of ORN/PRN. Such roads will be roadwork free and some changes which includes traffic signal timing and temporary Games Lane. According to John Armitt, the Chairman of Olympic Delivery Authority, “We have been working closely with our partners to take our operational planning to the next level and will continue to consult with Londoners on the plans.”
He also stated, “Where Games Lanes are required there will inevitably be some temporary disruption to everyday life, but we must give athletes the best chance to train and compete effectively. That means ensuring they get to their events on time and minimising the time they spend travelling.”

Despite an immensely successful event of 2010 FIFA World Cup, chances of South Africa to host the prestigious Olympic Games in the near future are quite rare. According to an IOC official, Africa will not be able to host the Olympic Games for the coming twenty years.
Chairperson of the IOC’s coordinating committee for 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics, Nawal El Moutawakel stated, “There is a huge amount of work to be done besides political desire, hence the experts' view that any realistic chance for (hosting the) Olympics in Africa is between 2030 and 2040.”
She also said, “I have read studies by some universities specialising in the Olympics who gave Africa between 2030 and 2040 to host the Games and that is a very realistic chance because Olympics is a different ball game.”

Moutawakel is currently in the Nairobi as the member of the organizing committee of 17th African Athletics Championship. She said, “I know South Africa did a wonderful job with the FIFA World Cup, right from the airport, going into the Johannesburg city and suburbs in wide smooth roads, to world class hotels and wonderful facilities in all the cities.”
